Introduction:

Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), the only survivor of the space freighter Nostromo, is rescued and revived after drifting for fifty-seven years in hypersleep. At an interview before a panel of executives from her employer, the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, her testimony regarding the Alien is met with extreme skepticism as no physical evidence of the creature survived the destruction of the Nostromo. Ripley loses her space flight license as a result of her “questionable judgment” and learns that LV-426, the planetoid where her crew first encountered the Alien eggs, is now home to a terraforming colony. Ripley is visited by Weyland-Yutani representative Carter Burke (Paul Reiser) and Lieutenant Gorman (William Hope) of the Colonial Marines, who inform her that contact has been lost with the colony on LV-426. The company is dispatching Burke and a unit of marines to investigate, and offers to restore Ripley’s flight status and grant her a commission as a lieutenant if she will accompany them as a consultant. Traumatized by her previous encounter with the Alien, Ripley initially refuses to join, but accepts when she realizes that the mission will allow her to face her fears. Arriving aboard the warship Sulaco she is introduced to the Colonial Marines, including Sergeant Apone (Al Matthews), Corporal Hicks (Michael Biehn), Privates Vasquez (Jenette Goldstein) and Hudson (Bill Paxton), and the android Bishop (Lance Henriksen), towards whom Ripley is initially hostile due to her previous experience with the android Ash aboard the Nostromo.

Introduction:

Introduction:

Introduction:

Photographer Adam Faulkner (Leigh Whannell) awakens in a bathtub full of water, at one end of a grimy and disused bathroom. At the other end is Dr. Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes); both men are chained by the ankle to the plumbing pipes. A corpse holding a revolver and a microcassette recorder lies on the floor between them. Lawrence and Adam each discover tapes in their pockets labeled “Play Me”. From these tapes, Adam is told that he must escape the bathroom, while Lawrence is told that he must kill Adam before six o’clock, or else his wife and daughter will be killed and he will be left to die where he sits. They find Hacksaws, though neither is sharp enough to cut through the chains. Adam breaks his and throws it away in frustration. Lawrence realizes that the saws are not meant for the chains, but instead for their feet.

Lawrence determines that their captor is the Jigsaw Killer, so named due to his practice of cutting pieces of skin in the shape of a jigsaw puzzle piece from his victims. The name is a misnomer, says Lawrence, as he never directly murders anyone and his intentions are for his victims to survive with a better appreciation of life. In a series of flashbacks of his previous victims are presented, including his only known survivor up to that point, a highly traumatized heroin addict named Amanda Young (Shawnee Smith). She believes that her experience in the test, in which she risked having her jaws ripped apart, has made her a better person.

Alien 4 Resurrection

Introduction:

Alien Resurrection takes place 200 years after Alien 3. Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) has been cloned on the outer space military science vessel USM Auriga using “blood samples from Fiorina ‘Fury’ 161, on ice.” The United Systems Military wants to extract the Alien queen embryo that was implanted in her before her death in Alien 3. After successful extraction of the embryo, the scientists decide to keep the Ripley clone alive for further study. They raise the Alien queen and collect her eggs for further use. As a result of the cloning process, during which Ripley’s DNA was mixed with the Alien’s, she has developed abilities including enhanced strength and reflexes, acidic blood, and an empathic link with the Aliens.

The Betty, a ship full of mercenaries, arrives delivering several kidnapped humans in hypersleep. The military scientists use them as hosts for the Alien facehuggers, raising several adult Aliens for study. The mercenaries encounter Ripley, and their youngest member Call (Winona Ryder) recognizes her name. She attempts to kill Ripley, believing she may be used to create more Aliens. Call is too late; the adult Aliens have already been created and quickly escape their confinement, damaging the ship and killing most of its crew. Dr. Wren (J. E. Freeman), one of the ship’s scientists, reveals that the Auriga’s default command in an emergency situation is to return to Earth. Realizing that this will unleash the Aliens on Earth, Ripley, the mercenaries, Wren, a marine named DiStephano (Raymond Cruz), and a surviving Alien host, Purvis (Leland Orser), attempt to escape on the Betty and destroy the Auriga.

Alien 3

Introduction:

Following the events in Aliens, the Colonial Marine spaceship Sulaco experiences an onboard fire and launches an escape pod containing Ellen Ripley, Newt, Hicks, and the damaged android Bishop who are all in cryonic stasis. The pod then crashes on Fiorina ‘Fury’ 161, a foundry facility and penal colony inhabited by all-male former inmates with “double-Y” chromosome patterns. As the inmates recover the pod and its passengers, an Alien facehugger is seen approaching their dog. Ripley is taken in and awakened by Clemens (Charles Dance), the facility’s doctor, and learns that she is the only survivor of the crash. Many of the ex-inmates have embraced an apocalyptic, millenarian religion which forbids sexual relations, and Ripley is warned that her presence among them may have extremely disturbing effects.

Suspicious of what caused the escape pod to jettison and what killed her companions, Ripley requests that Clemens perform an autopsy on Newt. She fears that Newt may be carrying an Alien embryo in her body, though she does not share this information. No embryo is found in Newt’s body and it appears she simply died in the crash, however, the colony’s warden (Andrews) becomes increasingly angered that Ripley’s unusual behavior is agitating the prisoners. They perform a funeral for Newt and Hicks in which their bodies are cremated in the facility’s gigantic furnace. In another part of the facility the dog goes into convulsions and an Alien erupts from its body. The Alien soon begins to attack members of the colony, killing several and returning one man to his former insane state. To get answers, Ripley recovers and reactivates the damaged android Bishop, who reveals that there was an Alien on the Sulaco and that it came with them to Fiorina in the escape pod. She then informs Andrews of her previous encounters with the Aliens and suggests that the group hunt it down. However, Andrews does not believe her story and also informs her that there are no weapons in the facility anyway. Their only hope of protection is the rescue ship being sent for Ripley by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation.

Acolytes

Introduction / Sypnosis:

The three teenagers, exhume a body that was witnessed being buried by a serial killer (unknown to them at the time). After a failed attempt at contacting the police, they blackmail the serial killer into killing a bully who was recently released from jail and attacked one of the boys.

The film contains some german text: Die Erpresser (the blackmailer) and Dienstag (Tuesday). In the manhunt scene, the teenagers fight back against Ian and Mark and Mark eventually beats Gary to death with a rock. It is suggested earlier in the film that Mark and James were sexually abused by Gary, and is confirmed at the conclusion of the manhunt scene.

Introduction:

He arrests a troublemaker drifter and the stranger frightens him telling that “they are coming and the locals will be dead”. Sooner Eben discovers that the town is under siege and attacked by a gang of bloodthirsty vampires, and together with a few survivors, they hide in a empty cellar expecting for the next sunrise.

Introduction:

Late one night, British animal rights activists break into the Cambridge Primate Research Facility to free chimpanzees being used for medical research. It immediately attacks and infects the activists and scientist.

28 days later, a bicycle courier named Jim (Cillian Murphy) awakens from a coma in a deserted hospital. As he leaves the hospital, he discovers London is completely deserted and rife with signs of catastrophe. Jim is soon discovered and chased through the streets by infected people before being rescued by two survivors, Selena (Naomie Harris) and Mark (Noah Huntley), who rush him to their hideout in the London Underground. They reveal that while Jim was comatose, the virus spread uncontrollably among the populace, turning most people into vicious monsters (”the Infected”) and resulting in societal collapse, possibly on a global scale.

Introduction:

Mike Enslin (John Cusack) is an author who makes his living churning out paperback books of “true hauntings” (examples such as Ten Haunted Graveyards and Ten Haunted Mansions). He has never found evidence of ghosts or anything supernatural in all his investigations, and is jaded and cynical, and seemingly without any close friendships or family.

He receives a postcard in the mail, picturing the Dolphin Hotel in New York. It is not signed, but says on the back, “Don’t Enter 1408.” Curious, he calls the Dolphin, and attempts to book the room, but the hotel refuses him. After getting the lawyer at his literary agency involved, the Dolphin is forced to rent the room to Enslin. Upon his arrival at the hotel, he is pulled into a private meeting with the hotel’s manager, Gerald Olin (Samuel L. Jackson), who does his best to convince Enslin not to stay in 1408, going so far as to offer him bribes, warning him that in 1408, “No one’s ever lasted more than an hour.” Enslin remains firm about staying in 1408, and Olin reluctantly escorts him to the room.

Once inside, Enslin pulls out his cassette recorder, and comments on the banality of the room. As he leans out the window to record his thoughts on the view of the city, the clock radio on the night table suddenly starts blaring “We’ve Only Just Begun” by the Carpenters. He turns to discover that chocolates have appeared on his pillow, and, thinking that it is a trick being played on him by Olin, he begins to search the room.

Introduction:

A woman, Marnie Watson, is granted early release from her prison sentence for manslaughter (killing her husband – a violent NYC cop – in self defense), on condition she wear an electronic ankle bracelet and remain within her home. This effectively put her under house arrest for the remainder of her sentence.

The partner of Watson’s late husband keeps tabs on her from a patrol car parked across the street, hoping she’ll violate probation so he can send her back to prison. However, the 100-foot radius that Watson’s ankle bracelet allows isn’t the worst of her problems. Her dead husband (now a malevolent ghost) is still in the house and intent on savage revenge.

Bruce Lee’s The Big Boss

Introduction:

Cheng is a Chinese man from Guangdong who has moved to Thailand, with the help of his uncle, to find a job working with his cousins in an ice factory. When a block of ice is accidentally broken, something that looks like a block of white powder comes out. Later that night, the two cousins who discovered the heroin were asked to stay to see the manager. They were told that there are better jobs for them. Apparently, the factory is a front for a drug smuggling ring led by the Big Boss, Hsiao Mi. The cousins were offered good positions. When they declined, they were murdered.

Hsiao Mi attempts to cover up the murders, but Cheng and his surviving cousins became suspicious. Two more of his cousins, Hsu Chien and Ah Pei, go to Mi’s house to ask if he knows what happened to them. When they realize he is acting suspicious and start toward the police station, Mi also has them killed (but not before Hsu takes several of Mi’s men down with him). Hsiao Mi then distracts Cheng by promoting him to foreman and providing him with alcohol and prostitutes (turning some of his cousins against him). However, out of affection, one of the prostitutes revealed the truth to Cheng. He broke into the factory one night and discovered, to his horror, his cousins’ corpses. Cheng’s snooping around was immediately discovered by a gang led by Hsiao Mi’s son, Hsiao Chiun.

Introduction:

The plot centers on the protagonist George Grieves (Cavanagh), who checks into the Mt. Abaddon Hospital for a routine procedure only to find horrors await him. Awakening from what was supposedly a simple colonoscopy Grieves is told by hospital staff that due to confusion arising from similar patient names he was mistakenly given a sympathectomy to cure sweaty palms.

As the days tick by Mr. Grieves’ post-operative experiences grow ever more bizarre until he finally realizes that he is caught inside a nightmare of his own creation and seems unable to escape or awaken back in the real world. He understands that something has gone wrong in his post-operative recovery which is keeping him trapped in this netherworld of manifestations of all of his worst fears but he understands neither what the problem is nor what, if anything, he can do to awaken from it.

Rise Blood Hunter

Introduction:

Reporter Sadie Blake has just published a notable article featuring a secret Gothic party scene. The very night following the publication, one of Sadie’s sources, Tricia Rawlins, is invited by her friend Kaitlyn to an isolated house in which such a party is to take place. Tricia is reluctant to enter with the curfew set by her strict father, so Kaitlyn goes alone. When she does not return, Tricia becomes worried and enters the house as well. To her horror, she finds Kaitlyn in the basement with two vampires hanging onto her and drinking her blood. She tries to hide, but the vampires find her quickly. The next day, Sadie learns of the girl’s death and decides to investigate the matter. She soon gathers the interest of the vampire clique, who kidnap her and bring her in for questioning. Following that, she is raped and murdered by the vampires.

To her surprise, Sadie abruptly awakes inside the cold box of a morgue. She escapes, but in the course of the following hours she finds to her horror that she has turned into a vampire herself. She attempts suicide by throwing herself off a bridge, but is found and taken in by fellow vampire Arturo who is though less blood-thirsty and more benevolent than his brethren. Though his true motives are unclear — a power struggle between Arturo and the leader of Sadie’s killers, Bishop, is mentioned — he helps Sadie to cope with her new condition and trains her to fight when she announces her intent to get revenge on her murderers.

Introduction:

In Mexico City, criminal gangs are kidnapping rich people and their families for the lucrative ransom money. On the advice of his lawyer, Mexican businessman Samuel Ramos (Marc Anthony), like other wealthy people, hires a bodyguard to protect his nine-year-old daughter Lupita “Pita” Ramos (Dakota Fanning), and to be able to renew the family’s ransom insurance. The head of an executive security firm, Paul Rayburn (Christopher Walken) suggests that Ramos hire Rayburn’s old CIA buddy John Creasy (Denzel Washington).

Ramos is impressed with Creasy’s résumé, which includes a variety of counterinsurgency and counter-terrorism activities. However, Creasy has since become uninterested in life. He is burned out from all the death and horror and has taken to alcoholism to ease the burden. Creasy is not interested in bodyguard work and even less with the youngster, but he needs a job. Creasy’s initial impatience slowly fades as he finds himself opening up to the child. He replaces her parents in their absence, giving her advice and coaching her in her swimming lessons and competitions. He helps her overcome her fear of starting guns, turning it into an eagerness to move at the sound of one. Pita gives Creasy an emblem of St. Jude, the patron saint of lost causes, saying she bought it for him with her own money.

Dunwich Horror, The

Introduction / Sypnosis:

In H.P. Lovecraft’s, “The Dunwich Horror”, we are told the story of Wilbur Whateley, the son of a deformed albino mother and an unknown father (alluded to in passing by the mad Old Whateley as “Yog-Sothoth”), and the strange events surrounding his birth and precocious development. Wilbur matures at an abnormal rate, reaching manhood within a decade. All the while, his sorcerer grandfather indoctrinates him into certain dark rituals and the study of witchcraft.

The plot revolves around the desire of Wilbur to acquire an unabridged Latin version of the Necronomicon — his imperfect English copy ill-suited for his dark purpose — so that he may open the way for the return of the mysterious (eldritch) “Old Ones”, whose forerunner is the Outer God Yog-Sothoth. Thus, Wilbur and his grandfather have sequestered an unseen presence at their farmhouse; this being is connected somehow to Yog-Sothoth. Year by year, this unseen entity grows to monstrous proportions, requiring Wilbur and his patriarch to make frequent modifications to their residence. People begin to notice a trend of cattle mysteriously disappearing. Eventually, Wilbur’s mother also disappears. By the time Wilbur’s grandfather passes away, the colossal entity occupies the whole interior of the farmhouse.

During the filming of one sequence, Jeremy can’t get his johnson to respond, and so he steps outside for some fresh air—where he’s possessed by an alien that appears as a flash of light in the sky.
